Customize Open with dialog windowsJust like you can customize the Autoplay menu, the folder list in open/save dialog windows, the options displayed in context menus or even the color of Windows standard yellow folders, you can now also choose which applications should be displayed in the “Open with” dialog window with OpenWithView.

This menu appears when you right click on any file and lets you choose the application you want to open it with. However, as you install and uninstall programs and thus change file type associations, it tends to get overcrowded and eventually ends up as a totally useless tool.

OpenWithView helps you clean the mess by letting you remove obsolete entries from the “Open with” application list. In this way you’ll be able to keep only the programs you’re interested in or use more frequently and therefore have a cleaner, better organized app list to choose from. Pity you can’t rearrange apps and put your favorite ones on top of the list – something that could hopefully be implemented as a new feature in future releases.
