How often have you not responded to a friend’s email because you were lazy? Not anymore, because Google will be launching a new Gmail function that promises to write all of your emails for you. Come November 5, the new feature will suggest three possible responses to emails that you receive, based on the content of those emails.

Named ‘Smart Reply’, the feature uses machine learning technology to capture and understand the content of your emails. While new to Gmail, Google has already used this technology in their apps and services such as Photos to identify elements in your pictures so that you find them easily.

Gmail by Google will soon start writing your emails for you

Smart Reply by Gmail will improve as you use it and suggestions should become more and more accurate, and appropriate, with time.

The only bad news is that you will no longer be able to say “oh, I’m so sorry I did not respond. I didn’t have the time”.
