Windows Task Manager is a great little tool for seeing what’s happening on your computer and shutting down apps that aren’t responding how you’d like.

So, when you want to activate task manager, you hit Ctrl + Alt + Del, then choose “Start task manager”, right? If so, well done – you’re doing it right! But did you know that there’s a handy task manager shortcut that will allow you to launch it even more quickly and directly?

CTRL + Shift + Esc

If you can press Crtl + Alt + Delete, then you can get your hands around CTRL + Shift + Esc too. Hit this key combo and the task manager will pop up directly, saving you a few mouse clicks in the process. This little Windows task manager shortcut works great on Windows 7 and 8, as well as XP and Vista.
