Cricket is a great sport, with fans around the world. If you’re not able to play yourself, or are in between games, you might want to see some of the action on your desktop. If that sounds like you, then we’ve rounded up the best cricket games on Softonic, so you can take your pick!

Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 is one of the classics of the genre. Although looking at it in 2011 it is a little dated, it’s still the slickest, most popular cricket game out there. It’s got a dedicated World Cup mode, not to mention fully-licensed players, meaning you can play as Ricky Pontin, Andrew Flintoff – or whoever takes your fancy!

EA Sports Cricket is another high-profile, good looking option. The only problem with these games – 2004, 2005 and 2007 – is that 2007 is the last available option, and it doesn’t look like we’re going to get a 2011 or 2012 anytime soon. Although EA Sports Cricket 2005 is a solid game, it’s just not up to the standard of Brian Lara International Cricket.

International Cricket Captain doesn’t come from a gaming powerhouse, but it’s by no means a bad option. This game, released in 2010 and pretty modern as a result, is a rich, graphics-intensive experience with a particular emphasis on the English domestic season – although you can of course play international teams too.

Cricket Coach 2011 is a program that stands out for three reasons. Firstly, it’s obviously made by a developer who knows cricket and who cares about the game. Secondly, it’s perfect for fans of minor cricketing nations, like Afghanistan and the US, because it’s one of the very few programs that actually let you play as the underdogs. Lastly, it was developed in 2011 making it one of the very few up-to-date programs around!

International Test Cricket is an entirely different experience to these high-profile games, and the perfect choice for you if you are looking for manager style cricket sim, rather than an action game. These are perfect if you want a more intellectual experience, tweaking your strategy and monitoring your results until you find the killer team.
