Sound studioMP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, Ogg....the list of audio formats is endless. Every now and then though, you'll need to convert your track to another format, just to be able to play it on such or such MP3 player.

The best solution in this case is to install a converter. If this type of application is good you'll barely lose any sound quality. The difficult thing though is actually finding the converter that you need. We've patched up a list of 10 audio converters that Softonic users consider worthy of recognition:

Good list, if you don't care so much about the quality of your rips...

I agree with Jay on this one...Maybe it's just me, but on the top of this list should have been Tunebite, as No. 1 converter. Maybe the editor will take a look at that too.

Thanks for your comments. As you do state, Tunebite is an excellent application. We didn't include it in the list simply because we consider it more of a recorder than an audio converter. For the other programs we've felt that they do a good job at converting from one audio format to another. More importantly, we tried to include the ones that had been downloaded most by Softonic users, to reflect what they think are good converters.

Don't hesitate to suggest other software that you think we might have missed out.

Tried the above audio converters, but none of them can convert Apple music songs to plain audio formats. Just thinking the list could include NoteBurner's iTunes DRM audio converter which is newly released but I tried it and it works very good. It converts apple music, itunes m4p songs and even audiobooks to mp3, aac formats. http://noteburner-itunes-drm-audio-converter.en.softonic.com/
