Google’s new hands-free payment method could revolutionize our shopping experience

So, you’ve heard of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay right? Well if not, they’re basically applications that allow you to replace your credit card with your cell phone. Google has recently decided to go one step further (as they do), and launch a special kind of system that doesn’t require a credit card, or a cell phone – it doesn’t even require hands.

Imagine being able to walk into a shop and pay for something without having to reach for your wallet (or any other device for that matter). This idea has obviously been playing on Google’s mind for quite some time, and now we can begin to see some progress.

Hands Free is the latest idea from internet giant, and although only in its early development stages, could revolutionize the way we pay for things in the future.

The Hands Free app will be a simple operation. First you’ll need to download the app, register your details and your preferred payment method. You will also need to upload a photo of yourself.

The application uses WiFi and Bluetooth to determine when you are approaching a point of sale. The app sends your details and your photo to the POS, so the cashier can identify you immediately, confirming your identity and receive your payment from the system.

For the time being, Hands Free is just a concept, but if all goes well, we may never need cash or cards again!
