A while back we brought you a list of 100 free online apps, so you could pick out some webware to improve your daily tech usage. Well, we’ve done it again and this time have unearthed a list of 100 free open source applications, written up by Cynthia Harvey.
The organization of the list is a bit random, as for example, Cynthia pairs up games with instant messengers or video with windows managers. Some categories are also denser than others; audio tools, file sharing and developer tools being probably the longest. Surprisingly, Cynthia lists very few programs for popular categories like address book, games or photo tools but on the whole, this list offers a good choice of varied and most importantly open source applications.
