Soon you’ll be able to play Grand Theft Auto V in first person. The franchise has historically been played in third person view but developer Rockstar is adding a first person view in the upcoming release of GTA V for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rockstar had to rethink how GTA V would work in first person mode so they’ve included an optional first person cover system, a new targeting system and thousands of new animations. Players will have the option to switch back and forth between first and third person perspectives, which should make it easier for different missions.

In the short gameplay trailer, we get to see a ton of driving and flying from first person perspective. The action is more intense and you get a better sense of speed in first person mode, especially on a motorcycle. Shooting looks and feel like any generic shooter like Call or Duty or Battlefield.

The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V will also feature 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second for PS4, Xbox One. PC players can play in 4K on compatible computers.

GTA V will be available on November 18th, 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One and PC on Janurary 27th, 2015.
