Here at Softonic, we really love Halloween. In the past, we’ve dressed up in costume, carved pumpkins, and decorated both the San Francisco and Barcelona offices. Earlier today, we did a video comparison of scary Slender spin-offs. So what better way to continue the Halloween spirit this year than to stage our own version of Slender?

If you’ve ever wanted to know what happens after business hours in our office, well, this isn’t usually it. Strange things are bound to occur on Halloween though, and this year was no different. Check it out, and let us know what you think!

Slender: the game and the legend

For those who haven’t yet given it a try, Slender is a free horror game that requires players to find 8 pages while avoiding Slenderman. As your time to find the various items runs out, the game’s atmospheric soundtrack helps build up the tension by getting darker and more foreboding. Slender features limited light sources and sudden Slenderman appearances that create an atmosphere of horror.

The Slenderman legend revolves around photos posted to an online message board back in 2009. These images depicted what looked like a tall, faceless figure in a suit, with long arms and a creepy presence. From there, the legend was born.

Have you given Slender a try yet? If so, what did you think of it?
