Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans is a new album that has been years in the making. The album is a labor of love from Palette Swap Ninja and has been made to mark the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, on May 25th, and the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, a week later on June 1st. Stop feeling old and start reveling in the majesty of this mixed up masterpiece. It really is that good.
Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans tells the story of a New Hope in the style of the songs from Sgt. Peppers and it does it so well. Song titles like, With Illicit Help from Your Friends (With a Little Help from your Friends) Luke is in the Desert and Whining (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds), Being from the Spaceport of Mos Eisley (For the Benefit of Mr. Kite) and A Day in the Life of Red Five (A Day in the Life) give you a good idea of what to expect.
You can head over to Palette Swap Ninja’s web page to get access to the album in many formats including 320kbps download and even FLAC. If, however, you want full on New Hope visuals and on screen lyrics to sing along to then the YouTube playlist will be what you’re after.
