Free shoot ’em up Boss Rush! turns the tables, and puts you in control of a huge end of level boss, fighting annoyingly small and agile spacecraft that are hell-bent on your destruction.
Controlling the boss is an exercise in multitasking – you have to move, with the cursor keys or WASD, aim and shoot with the mouse, while setting off powerful special attacks with the number keys 1 to 4. It really gives you a fresh perspective on shoot ’em ups – maybe next time you play R-Type, you’ll go easy on the bosses. They have a tough job!
The graphics are stylish and minimalist – they look cool. Of course, it would be nice to be able to pilot more classically styled shmup bosses, but you can’t have everything!
