Top iPhone apps to follow the US Masters

The US Masters tees off today and all eyes will be on Tiger Woods as he begins his first tournament since the revelations about his sex life were splashed across every newspaper on the planet. If you can’t get near a TV or computer and want to keep up with all the juicy gossip and get the latest scores then get these three great golf apps installed on your iPhone (links will open in iTunes).

The MastersThe Masters is the official iPhone app of the tournament and allows you to follow the action from Augusta in a number of ways. You can watch live video footage from five different holes (including Amen Corner), listen to radio commentary from the tournament, read the latest news and view photos recently snapped at the event. There are even flyover videos for every hole on the course.

PGA TourPGA Tour is very useful if you want to follow the progress of individual players at the Masters. This official tour app lets you can view the leaderboard, check tee times and look at the current FEC standings. You can follow golfers by creating a favorites list of players for quick access to their current scorecard, get play-by-play updates on how they are doing, and view a detailed profile of the player.

Golf ChannelGolf Channel Mobile also offers a convenient way to follow the Masters on your iPhone. The app lets you create custom leaderboards to track the players you are most interested in, or view the scoreboard of the whole field. There’s no live commentary but you do get access to the latest blogs and analysis from the Golf Channel’s team of experts and the app even offers daily tips to help you improve your swing!
