We have iTunes, Spotify, Grooveshark… so what else does tunesBag have to offer? tunesBag is a new music storage and sharing service that enables you to upload all your music to ‘the cloud’ and access it from anywhere in various ways – as long as you have an Internet connection, that is.

Once you’ve created a user account on the tunesBag website you’re ready to start browsing playlists or uploading your own music.  You can create a new account (it’s free and takes less than one minute), or use your login credentials for Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live, MySpace, Yahoo! or Google. Playlists are either created and shared by other tunesBag users, or generated by the system itself with the latest additions, the top rated songs or the recently played tracks.

In order to upload your own music, you can either use a web-based uploading tool, a special desktop uploader (that must be downloaded and installed on your PC) or even send the songs via email to a personalized tunesBag address.

Now here comes the most interesting side to tunesBag. You can listen to your favorite music – either the tracks you’ve uploaded yourself or from playlists shared by other users – in several ways: via your web browser, using a desktop Adobe AIR app, a Facebook app or even an iPhone app.

So, where’s the catch? Simple answer: the basic service is free, but limited to 1 GB of storage and supported by ads. If you want an ad-free account with more space for your music, you’ll need to upgrade to a Premium service, where you can get up to 200 GB of storage for $15 a month.

Also, tunesBag is restricted by copyright laws. You’ll be able to share music with your friends provided they’re in countries that allow limited music sharing. If not, tunesBag will try to find a legally available copy of the song you’re trying to share.

tunesBag is obviously not a perfect system, and still has plenty of room to improve. There are a few bugs here and there, and the sharing functionality needs some polishing. But it also includes nice features that make it look quite promising: it’s easy to use, offers cross-platform tools to upload music and listen to it, and has an interesting social side thanks to which you can discover new bands and music styles
