This has been probably the worst week in Paris Hilton’s life: the popular blonde spent a few days in jail as a result of her driving drunk along LA streets. For this reason, we gathered five special software tips in the hope that she learns her lesson well.

Celebrity issues apart, this week insideTonic covered a variety of topics to make your software personal experience even better. Nick gave us some advice on how to record Internet radio streams directly to our computer; in turn, Tom unveiled an excellent VoIP guide for all Mac users out there; and as for me, I collected a bunch of software tools specially designed for household managment.

There were some important web announcements reported on the blog too, beginning with Google which was in the news again releasing new features for their Personalized Homepage, now known as iGoogle. Also, MovableType launched the new version 4 beta for their blogging platform, a release which was thoroughly analysed and compared to their main competitors – WordPress. Finally, the developers of AllPeers, a P2P extension for Firefox, were proud to announce that you can now get a copy of the browser with their product bundled into it.

One last tip: don’t miss the opportunity to download DivX Pro for free. The download is available for a short period of time and will enable you to use this excellent encoding tool and media player with no limitations. So hurry up and make your registration count!
