WhatsApp goes free to fight iMessage threat

WhatsApp for Iphone now free

In a bid to block competition from iOS’s new iMessage feature, WhatsApp Messenger has gone free in the App Store!

WhatsApp allows users to send free instant messages from their device to anyone else who has the application installed. It includes useful features such as file sharing, group chat, offline messaging and status updates.

WhatsApp for Iphone now free

The fact that WhatsApp can now be downloaded for free makes it arguably a better option than using iMessage, given that it can work across different mobile platforms (i.e. Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Phone). Of course, it relies on the person you are messaging having WhatsApp Messenger installed, so make sure you encourage all your friends to download it too!
